Basil the Great was born around 330. On the Black Sea, Basilio wrote two works, the rules for the common life of monks. 370 was appointed archbishop of his hometown. He built the "Basilias", which included a pilgrim's house, a hospital for the poor and a medical research station. Basil died on January 1, 379.
