Josef Freinademetz was a priest and missionary. He was born in Badia, South Tyrol in 1852. He traveled to Hong Kong to learn about the culture of China. During his ministry in Shandong, the number of Christians grew from 158 to 46,000. In 2003 he was canonized. Remembrance day is January 28th.
