Sigismund or Sigmund was a son of the Burgundian king Gundobad and was his successor in 516. Sigismund is the patron saint of the city of Cremona. A number of Sigismund churches are dedicated to him. His feast day is May 1st. He is venerated as a saint by the Catholic Church.
